Tottenham Hotspurs, the club from North London, didn’t have the best of seasons last year around and they had to settle for below-par results. They finished at a lowly 7th in the league and also crashed out of the Europa league losing in the pre-quarterfinals. If that wasn’t enough, there was more agony to come for the Eagles. They lost narrowly to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final and end the season without any trophy. It was definitely a heartbreak for the Whites who’re in close contention for two trophies and ended up with none. Their last campaign was already in turmoil after coach Jose Mourinho was sacked just one week before they play in the League-Cup-finals. Assistant Ryan Mason was chosen as the interim coach and continued for the rest of the season.

Player Incomings For Spurs
1) Cristian Romero
The biggest incoming of Spurs in this transfer window is undoubtedly none other than the Argentine young prodigy Cristian Romero. He has been the rock at the back for Atalanta last season and was one of the standout defenders in SerieA. Tottenham and Atalanta had agreed on a fee of £42 M for the 23-year-old defender. No wonder that he will be an excellent addition to the Spurs squad which desperately needed a top-class center-back. He has also performed exceedingly well in the Copa Americas as well in Argentina colors. Though PL is a completely different stage and he needs to adjust well to the conditions in order to perform well, we can still expect that he will be a potential good money move for the Spurs. Let’s see if he can prove out to tobe the missing piece of the puzzle who Spurs wanted to stop leaking goals.
2) Bryan Gil
Another youngster to join the Spurs in this window is Spanish young sensation, Bryan Gil. He is only 20 at the moment but has caught the watchful eyes of football fanatics all around the world. Tottenham has given £21 M + Erik Lamela to Sevilla as part of the deal. His dribbling qualities, genuine pace, and crossing capabilities are something to watch out for. Left little to doubt, Gil has now the stage set for him to become the future star of football. All eyes will be on him to see how he fared when the season comes to an end.
3) Pepe Sarr
To add to the list of burgeoning youngsters joining Tottenham, Pepe Matar Sarr is an honorable mention. Spurs and FC Metz agreed on a fee around the region of £14.6 M for this young talent. But the deal includes an agreement that will keep him at Metz for the rest of the 2021-22 season. He will be able to join the London side in the 2022 summer transfer window.
4) Emerson Royal
The drama that unfolded surrounding Emerson’s transfer this season is nothing short of a fantasy story. The Brazilian man was first bought by FC Barcelona and was in line to play for them this year. But as Barca faced a tumultuous situation to reduce their wage cap for the season, they”re forced to sell him. Tottenham and Barcelona agreed on a fee of £25.8 M with £4.3 M in add-ons. It will boost Spurs’ options in full-back position and would provide stiff competition to Tanganga in the RB position.
Along with these four main Incomings, the London outfit also secured the services of Pierluigi Gollini from Atalanta and Ryan Sessegnon from Hoffenheim.
Player departures at Spurs

Along with the arrival of some key players into the squad, Tottenham also ensured player outgoing outgoings quite swiftly. Below are the names of the players who have already made their last appearance for the club:-
1) Juan Foyth has made his permanent move to Villarreal CF from Spurs for about £13 M in total.
2) Belgian center-back Toby Alderweirld joined Al-Duhail SC for a reported fee of around £13 M.
3) Moussa Sissoko has left the London-based outfit and joined the newly-promoted side, Watford. Watford paid £5 M to secure the services of the Frenchman.
4) Former City veteran Joe Hart joined Glasgow side Celtic from Tottenham for a fee of only £1 M.
5) Danny Rose and Erik Lamela joined Watford and Sevilla FC respectively in free transfers.
6) Carlos Vinicius was sent on Loan to Benfica FC for the remainder of the season.

Expectations from this season
Frankly speaking, Tottenham has made a squad this season that is capable of competing with the best teams for trophies. They almost have a replacement readily available at every position in the squad and should utilize this well. Besides this squad depth, Spurs have an excellent tactician in the form of Nuno who exactly knows how to take the game away from the opposition at the right time. They have two experienced forwards in Kane and Son who are playing at the PL for a long. It can be said with confidence that there would be no dearth in terms of scoring goals for the team. The Forward line also boasts of the likes of Moura, Bergwijn, Gil, and Dele Alli.
But the problem lies there in the defense where no experienced or tested players aren’t available to them. The likes of Romero, Tanganga, Reguillon, Sanchez, Emerson will all be tested at the pressure situations of the game. In the midfield too, apart from Hojbjerg, there are not so much consistent players. Ndombele, Skipp, and Lo Celso though have been good enough till now and are expected to carry on their form. If the Eagles can find the perfect combination of players in the squad, they have the ability to win any game. They have great potential in their squad to bring glory back to the White Hart Lane this season. It remains to be seen whether they can live up to the expectations of millions of their fans all around.

Conclusion
So, what are we waiting for, tighten your seatbelts and gear up for an exciting and enthralling upcoming season for the Whites? Can the Eagles end the long long wait for a major trophy and bring back smiles in their fan’s-face again? Or will they remain unsuccessful again in their quest for glory even with such a fascinating squad? Don’t miss any of their matches to know how they perform this year.
