FPL GAMEWEEK 14 : TEAM SELECTION

The Premier League is going to be in its fourteenth week this matchday and it has till now turned out to be one of the most engrossing and captivating seasons ever. You have it all this season, from some of the excellent displays on the pitch by the players to the awesome support shown by the fans after their return to stadiums, from witnessing the downfall of Manchester United to watching the meteoric rise of Brentford, it’s an enthralling year so far. Now it’s time to take a quick look at our most preferred this gameweek which has some entertaining fixtures.

The last gameweek, it was a bit low-scoring one as the players most owned by FPL managers underperformed to some extent. Now, for the midweek fixtures, we will select that team that is expected to score the maximum number of points. Here we go with our team of the matchweek.

GOALKEEPER FOR FPL

VICENTE GUIATA (PALACE) : Value – 4.6 M

• Favourable fixture against an offensively weak Leeds United attack without Bamford
• Averages over five points in the past four gameweeks
• Decent pick with his price remaining well below 5M

One of the highest point-earning goalkeepers in the PL, standing in the seventh position.

DEFENDERS FOR FPL

TRENT ALEXANDER -ARNOLD (LIVERPOOL) Value – 8.0 M

• Topmost point earning defender in the FPL with 88 points in his kitty
• A total of 36 points in his last three outings, averaging a perfect 12 in each
• Most creative, attacking threat possessing and impactful defender in the PL right now. He also has 1 goals and 7 assists to his name till now
• Favourable fixture against an under-performing Everton side

REECE JAMES ( CHELSEA ) Value – 6.1 M

• Thirdhighest scoring defender in the league having a whopping 76 points in his bag
• Best performer for the London side at the moment with four goals and four assists
• 54 points over the last five gameweeks, averaging over 10
• Easy fixture against a defensively weak Watford team

SERGIO REGUILON (SPURS) Value – 5.1 M

• One of the best performing left-back in the PL, performing consistently for Spurs
• Accumulating a total of 50 points till now, second best total among Spurs’ players
• Collecting 14 points in last two games averaging seven in each.
• Slightly easy fixture against a newly promoted Brentford team.

MIDFIELDERS FOR FPL

MOHAMMED SALAH(LIVERPOOL) Value- 13.0 M

• Top point scoring player in the player among all, registering a whopping 131 points
• Surreal numbers for him, 11 goals and 9 assists in only 13 starts
• 24 points in last four gameweeks. He’s a player who is sure to give a good number of points
• Facing a depleted Everton defence, thereby having high chances of scoring high

CONOR GALLAGHER (PALACE) Value – 6.1 M

• Third highest point scoring midfielder with 69 points
• Best performer for Palace, with 4  goals and five assists for him
• Second most influential and one of the most creative player on the pitch
• Facing a lowly placed Leeds united side, so expect a good game from him

Son Heung-min (SPURS) Value – 10.4 M

• With 60 points, he is among the top five high scoring mids in the league
• Four goals and two assists for him, top among all spurs’ players
• Has a good run of fixtures for the next three weeks, facing all the newly promoted sides and Brighton

Expected to come good against an easy but tricky Brentford team

DIOGO JOTA (LIVERPOOL) Value – 7.8 M

• Fourth highest scoring midfielder in the FPL, just one shy of Gallagher in third
• 22 points in his last two encounters, averaging 11 in each
• 7 goals and 1 assist in only 11 starts for him
• Relatively easy outing for him against Everton tomorrow, so can hope for him to come good

FORWARDS FOR FPL

ALLAN SAINT – MAXIMIN (NEWCASTLE) Value – 6.9 M

• Fourth highest scoring forward in the league from a relegation-threatened team with 57 points
• 12 points in his last two outings, averaging over six
• Three goals and four assists, a decent budget pick
• Easy fixture against Norwich, the worst defensive side in the league

RAUL JIMENEZ ( WOLVES) Value – 7.8 M

• Joint fifth high scoring forward in FPL with 53 points along with Toney
• Main man for Wolves’ wonderful run of form this season with 3 goals and 3 assists
• 26 points in last five matches, averaging over five

Facing a relegation-threatened Burnley side, high chances of giving FPL team makers a handful amount of points

IVAN TONEY (BRENTFORD) Value – 6.7 M

• Joint fifth highest scoring striker in the PL with 53 points along with Jimenez
• Best differential pick. He has registered over four goals and two assists till now
• 15 points in the last two games, averaging over seven
• Facing a not so good Spurs defence, so you can keep faith that he might score
