Now as the Premier League season is back, we’re also ready with our most preferred team for the gameweek one. We have made this team keeping in mind the players’ recent performances as well as the pre-season form. It remains to be seen if the players can live up to the usual expectations of the fantasy team makers. The start always matters in a long fantasy league season. And in line with this, we’ve come up with the best possible team that will make good returns in this gameweek. Let’s have a detailed analysis of the whole squad we have selected.
GOALKEEPER FOR FPL
JORDAN PICKFORD (EVERTON)
Value – 5.0 M
The English goalie was in awesome form for the three lions in the recently concluded Euros. His superb performance between the sticks was one of the main reasons they played in the finals. Besides these, Everton has got one of the easiest set of fixtures in the first round. Southampton’s attack is not one of the best and has been further weakened with the departure of Ings. Pickford will look to capitalize on this opportunity to keep a clean sheet and help his side register a win.
DEFENDERS FOR FPL
LUKE SHAW (MANCHESTER UNITED)
Value – 5.5 M
The left-back was one of the star performers for England in the Euros with some quality performances in England colors. He has already shown glimpses of his golden form in the preseason matches. Undoubtedly, he is a vital cog in the United team and would look to deliver some stellar shows. Against Leeds, he is our go-to man to give us a handful amount of points from the defensive trio.
LUCAS DIGNE (EVERTON)
Value – 5.5 M
The Frenchman has been in excellent form for the Toffees since last season and is gearing up for another one. He is a class left-back with an eye for goals as well as taking inch-perfect set pieces. Everton is playing against Southampton this weekend and it can be hoped Digne puts up a solid show on display. If he continues his rich vein of form, he is not gonna disappoint fpl team makers.

MATT TARGETT ( ASTON VILLA)
Value – 5.0 M
Targett was the wall of the Villa defense in last year’s premier league. He also impressed the fans and the football fanatics with his attacking style of play from a defensive position. Nonetheless, he also has quite a few goals for them in the set pieces. This season too, we will bank upon him to give us useful points as a defender.
MIDFIELDERS FOR FPL
BRUNO FERNANDES (MAN UNITED)
Value – 12.0 M
In the last season, Mr. Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes was in the form of his life for the red devils. Certainly, he is the most free-scoring and creative midfielder in the PL right now. Imagining an FPL team without him is practically impossible for the fantasy team makers now. We hope that he may continue his sensational form for United and help us gain a substantial amount of points. Bruno has got a relatively tricky fixture against Leeds and it will be a delight for us if he starts in the match.
MOHAMMED SALAH (LIVERPOOL) Value – 12.5 M
Along with Fernandes, Salah was the undisputed star of the Liverpool attack as well as of the FPL 2020-21 squad. He was lethal in the attack for the Reds and also played an instrumental part in building attacks for them. This season too, he carries loads of expectations with him to perform well as he has been doing consistently over the years. Nevertheless, taking him and Bruno in your fantasy team always puts you in the safe zone of having guaranteed points. Let’s see if he can come good for them this season too.
JACK GREALISH (MANCHESTER CITY)
Value – 8.0 M
No wonder that Jack Grealish is a wonderful addition to Pep Guardiola’s already champion squad. He is an astonishing creative player who has been performing year in and year out for Villa. His impact in the Euros after coming off the bench indeed proves his greatness as an impactful player. In the premier league too, seeing his performance over the years, we can expect him to do something extraordinary. Having him in your FPL squad will always give you a profitable return. Hope that he turns up for the citizens as he did for Villa.
EMILY SMITH-ROWE
Value – 5.5 M
The youngster was one of the few breakthrough stars for the Gunners in their disastrous forgetful season. He is now probably the best promising player of the EPL who gives up good shows when it matters. Following his excellent season, he was handed out a brand new five-year contract extension with them. He will be eager to make an instant impact when Arsenal plays newly-promoted Brentford this gameweek. Smith-Rowe is a good option for those seeking a good low-cost utility player.
TOMAS SOUCEK (WEST HAM)
Value – 6.0 M
The Czech man was the undaunted king of midfield for the Hammers in the whole of the 2020-21 season. He fully controlled the midfield for them and was one of the standout performers among midfielders. Certainly, he will be looking forward to having another stellar season in front. He is perfect for one’s FPL team who will be searching for a budget-friendly holding midfielder with attacking attributes.
FORWARDS FOR FPL
DANNY INGS (ASTON VILLA)
Value – 8.0 M
The former Saints striker has recently joined Villa and is expected to be a good signing for them. He was in prolific form for his previous team and will be longing to polish his scoring boots once again. He can be an invaluable asset to Villa along with Watkins with his goal-scoring ability coming to the fore. We fancy his chances of finding the back of the net against a weakened Watford side.

MICHAIL ANTONIO (WEST HAM)
Value – 7.5 M
The Hammers’ striker was in swashbuckling form for his side in the previous edition of the premier league. He is a fox in the box when it comes to scoring goals inside the box. Antonio’s goal-scoring prowess isn’t unknown to anyone and on top of that, he’ll get a weak Southampton defense against him. We expect him to return with a good amount of points collected from the game.
