Chelsea V/S Manchester United: Preview

Chelsea Vs Manchester United. London vs Manchester in the Premier League. As good as a derby, given its iconic rivalry. New Manager in the mid-season, could do wonders and Chelsea has experienced the cure of this medicine. Tuchel is unbeaten in his Chelsea Regime. Solskjaer is unbeaten on the road, for more than a year. This speaks volumes about the match.

Premier league clash

These matches, do not deserve to be a late-night kickoff. And, rightly so, this one’s not a late-night kickoff. 10 pm (IST), the ball starts rolling. Fierce Rivalry. Two clubs, which have not seen the glory days, for quite a while now. Tuchel vs Solskjaer. This means drama. This means excitement.  The managers are even-stevens (2-2) on the head to head. (Manchester United played PSG, for two seasons straight in the UEFA Champions League.) If this is not enough for you to switch on your TVs and sit with blazing eyes, for a hundred minutes straight, I don’t know what is.

A six-point game on the cards, as the heavyweights of English Football, lock horns against one another. Manchester United is placed second in the table, with 49 points. While the blues are just two points off a Champions League spot going into the match. A win for either side will be crucial. A draw would favor Manchester United more than it would to Chelsea. The Red Devils have seen the better of the Blues in the past couple of seasons. This fixture last season, saw Ole Gunnar Solskjaer do a league double over Frank Lampard (The former Chelsea Manager).

Ole (Manchester United)

Azpilicueta, Christensen, Rudiger

Reece, Jorginho, Kovacic, Chilwell

Mason, Timo, Giroud

Manchester United:

De Gea

Wan Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw

Fred, Matic, Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford

Mason Mount

The midfielder seems to have impressed the new manager. Doubts of him faring well under Tuchel and impressing the German remained for a while. But Mason has been a mainstay on the team sheet in the Premier League and the Champions League. His work rate is his strength, and he will aim to keep the Manchester United defense on its toes. He has created the most number of chances for Chelsea this season and will be crucial for the Blues if they are to snatch all 3 points out of this fixture.

Mount and Werner (Chelsea)

Timo Werner

The German forward has had a stretch to forget under the English Manager. However, he seems to be firing lately for Thomas Tuchel, after finally scoring against Newcastle. Nevertheless, he has been contributing to the team otherwise, by winning penalties and providing assists. Him getting a goal in this huge fixture would do the team, a world of good. His pace and dribbling skills upfront could threaten the defense of the opposition.

Manchester United

Bruno Fernandes

The first name on the “Players to Watch Out For” list of any Manchester United fixture, is Bruno Fernandes. How synonymous has he become with the name of the club! Being highly influential, he has the ability to turn the game on its head. Could score from the spot, from open play, and from set-pieces. Multiple Threats to a Thiago Silva less Chelsea defense. One of the most in-form players in the world right now is Bruno Fernandes. And Chelsea would have to go an extra mile, to stop him from cast his spells.

Rashford and Bruno (Manchester United)

Marcus Rashford

The left flank of Manchester United is as hot as lava. Marcus Rashford, being the volcano. The 23-year-old Academy product seems to have found the form of his life under Ole. He will be wanting to add to the tally of 9 goals and 6 assists, in the Premier League this season. His link-up with Bruno will be crucial for the red devils. On his day, he could be unstoppable.

A win for Chelsea would reduce the deficit between Manchester United to three points. A loss would increase it to nine. The football world is thus set to witness an exciting game, which will affect the end of the season scenarios. We would just like to say that may the best team win. We fans are up for a thrilling encounter.
