Barcelona hosts Getafe at Camp Nou on Matchday 03 of the Santander. Both teams will look to get back onto winning ways. F.C. Barcelona drew 1 – 1 away to Athletic Bilbao in the 2nd matchday and they would surely be looking to make amends and get back to winning ways.
Getafe meanwhile has endured a disappointing start to the season with 2 back to back losses against Valencia C.F. and Sevilla F.C. in the first two matchdays of the La Liga Santander 2021 – 2022. The Azulones are one of the three sides currently in the Spanish top Flight without a point and they would look to stop their disappointment when they meet in Camp Nou.

F.C. Barcelona finished a disappointing 3rd last season after they failed to challenge for the title. Getafe, meanwhile achieved a disappointing 15th place, staying just adrift of the relegation zone. F.C. Barcelona defeated Getafe 5 – 2 last time they met in the Camp Nou, with Lionel Messi scoring a brace and Antoine Griezmann scoring the winner. Antoine Griezmann would surely love to score against them tonight, given he has an impressive record of contributing in 8 goals out of 10 against the Madrid-based outfit.

F.C. Barcelona vs Getafe Team News
F.C. Barcelona
F.C. Barcelona will continue to be without the services of Sergio Aguero, Ansu Fati, and Ousmane Dembele. However, the good news is that Phillipe Coutinho, Marc Andre Ter Stegen, and Oscar Mingueza have returned back from their injuries and have a chance to be in the squad today.
Veteran defender Gerard Pique sits out through an injury he suffered last week and Eric Garcia will also miss the clash due to a red card he picked up last week. This means Clement Lenglet gets his first start of the season and he will be partnered with Ronald Araujo. Sergino Dest and Jordi Alba will complete the defense with Neto in goal.
Pedri has been sent on a long holiday overdue. Frenkie De Jong is back and he will be set to complete the mid-three along with Sergio Busquets and Sergi Roberto. The front three is expected to remain the same with Martin Braithwaite starting as the striker, Memphis Depay to his left, and Antoine Griezmann to his right.

Players to watch out for
FC Barcelona
Memphis Depay
Losing Leo Messi, Club in financial crisis, and among all these difficulties if God gave Barca fans a gift that has to be Memphis Depay on a free transfer. With Leo gone it was expected that every sort of magic moment will be expected from the Dutch International and Barca’s new no.9 didn’t disappoint them. Memphis had a great debut match against Real Sociedad and he carried that momentum forward against Athletic Club. He scored the only goal that ensures Barca takes a point home from San Mames. Ronald Koeman will be asking for much more of these special efforts from his countrymen.

Ronald Araujo
From last season Ronald Araujo has been like a wall at the back for Barcelona. The Uruguayan international has solid physicality, he is good in the air, and is quick with his actions. In short Barca’s no. 4 has all the traits of an ideal center-back. Starting 1st two-game from the bench Araujo had a very good impact coming as a substitute. With Pique injured and Garcia suspended Araujo will surely start vs Getafe and the responsibility to lead the defense will be on his shoulders.
Getafe
Carles Alena
After being on loan last season, Getafe signed Carles Alena from Barcelona in this window. It’s quite an early homecoming for the Spanish Midfielder as he returns to Camp Nou to face his former club. Being a La Masia Graduate Alena knows everything about the Barca playing style. This understanding of Alena can help him and Getafe to break the lines against the Blaugranas. Alena is very accurate with the ball on his feet and is tactically very sound. Carles will surely try to cause problems to his boyhood club and show them his worth.

Vitolo
Getafe has failed to score in their 1st two LaLiga encounters and against the Catalans, it won’t be an easy task. The drought of goals is because of low creativity and with the season proceeding with great pace Michel will be hoping his experienced no.8 Vitolo to pick up the responsibility. Vitolo can play in multiple positions be it at wing or in the Midfield. He is not a bad option to play through the center as well. The club will hope the 31-year-old Spaniard to shine and get among the scorers as they desperately need the frontline to fire.
Conclusion
After being forced to settle for just a point at San Mames FC Barcelona will try their best to get back on the winning ways and go into the international break with all three points. However, the task won’t be easy as Getafe are in search of their 1st point on the league table and they will travel to Camp Nou fully prepared for the Challenge. Looking at the current form FC Barcelona does have an edge. However, Football is a game full of unpredictability. Hence an upset can’t be ruled out at Camp Nou. Do get yourself ready as another entertaining battle awaits you in La Liga Santander.
